Surgery to remove so-called trigger points for migraines can lead to improvements in patients’ health, researchers from University Hospitals in Cleveland reported Saturday. Of 69 patients who qualified for the study, 20 reported elimination of the migraines entirely, 41 reported a significant decrease in symptoms and frequency, and eight experienced less than a 50 percent improvement. Trigger points include certain muscles and nerves in the forehead, temple or nasal areas.
