There was no particularly heated father-son, Air Force-Colorado State rivalry in the Stucker household — until maybe now.

Pat Stucker lettered for Air Force as an offensive tackle in 1971-72. His son, Grant, is CSU’s fifth-year senior starting quarterback.

The elder Grant appears a trim 6-2, much like his son.

“Back then, those guys were real little,” the CSU quarterback said of the linemen in the 1970s. “It hasn’t been a big rivalry for the family.”

Air Force visits Hughes Stadium Saturday.

Texas lineman commits: Mason Hathaway, a 6-5, 265 pound offensive lineman for Dallas-area prep power Southlake Carroll, announced Tuesday night he has committed to sign with CSU next February.

Hathaway said the coaching staff, the campus and Fort Collins area and new practice facilities were big factors in his decision, despite his official visit taking place during CSU’s loss to San Diego State.

All wet: A downpour late in practice was ideal weather for checking out the Rams’ new $13 million indoor practice facility. However, the team had already started outside, and moving indoors and resuming practice would have taken too much time.

The players and coaches were drenched when they finally did go inside.

“You practice in what you play in,” CSU fullback Zac Pauga said.

No one was more miserable than linebacker Michael Kawulok, hobbling in the mud on crunches. It had been announced he will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. He confirmed he has a torn ACL.
