Xcel Energy on Tuesday filed its plan for meeting Colorado’s Renewable Energy Standard of producing 20 percent of energy from renewable resources by 2020.

The plan, which looks out 10 years, adds more than 257 megawatts of new solar power generated by residential and commercial users; about 700 megawatts of new wind power; and 350 megawatts from utility-scale solar power plants.
