James Thorpe Lauberts, 26, faces criminal charges in the death of his mentally and physically disabled brother.
The body of 49-year-old David Lauberts was found in the rubble of his younger brother’s home after a fire in Greeley on Sept. 15.
Tests indicated that David Lauberts was dead before the fire started, and the cause was related to his medical condition, according to Greeley police.
His brother was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminally negligent homicide, felony arson and tampering with physical evidence.
James Lauberts is responsible for his older brother’s care, police said.
He remains in custody in the Weld County Jail.
