ERIE — Each week, four employees at John Murphy Millwork in Erie have pitched in $10 apiece to buy lottery tickets. It paid off this week.
The group won $1 million in the Powerball drawing Saturday by matching five numbers and choosing the Power Play option. Each is receiving nearly $178,000 after taxes.
Cabinet-maker John Abeyta of Thornton said he would give a small amount of his prize to the clerk who sold the winning ticket.
