A husband allegedly stabbed by his wife’s boyfriend outside the Arapahoe County District Courthouse on Wednesday was identified today as 40-year-old Delmar Traylor.

The alleged assailant was identified by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department as Alphonso McDaniels.

McDaniels, 30, is currently being held in the Arapahoe County Detention Facility for investigation of second-degree assault, a class 6 felony.

Traylor was given a summons charging him with third-degree assault, a class one misdemeanor.

According to investigators, Delmar Traylor and his wife Tiffany Traylor are in the midst of a divorce and were on their way to a divorce hearing at the courthouse.

However, Delmar Traylor and McDaniels became embroiled in an argument in the courthouse parking lot. As the argument grew, Traylor allegedly grabbed his wife’s boyfriend and McDaniels – the boyfriend – pulled a knife and stabbed Traylor.

McDaniels and Tiffany Traylor fled the scene but were stopped by deputies at the intersection of East Arapahoe Road and South Potomac Street where both were taken into custody.

Delmar Traylor was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Howard Pankratz: 303-954-1939 or hpankratz@denverpost.com
