Getting your player ready...

We got beat today, no excuses. We got beat from top to bottom. Nobody is hitting the panic button, nobody is reverting back to calling McD McNames. Most rational fans are taking a wait-and-see approach after one loss to see how we adjust. There is a lot of football to play, and I believe McD will make the adjustments on special teams, defense and most of all offense.

Lucky vs. lousy.

The Broncos were due for a lousy game. Denver has been living a charmed life this year. While the win against the Chargers was a great win, I think we got lucky against the Bengals and Pats. And the Ravens quite simply needed this win to stay close to the Steelers and Bengals in the AFC North.

Pass the bomb.

What we saw with Orton in Baltimore is the problem with him. He will win games when the team is leading, but he won’t be the one to lead a team to victory. Sure, he “played smart” Sunday, but did that help the team? We needed passes down the field to stretch the defense, and he couldn’t do that.

Still optimistic.

Next Monday’s game is huge. Sunday can be easily forgiven. A loss at Mile High in prime time will be tougher to stomach. I think 12 wins and a first-round bye are likely. — Back to red
