LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska defensive tackle Jared Crick has picked up another national honor for his performance in Saturday’s 20-10 win over Baylor.
He’s been named the Football Writers Association of America/Bronko Nagurski national defensive player of the week.
Crick had a career-high 13 tackles, 10 unassisted, and set a school record with five sacks—the most in a single game by any player in the nation this season. He also broke up a pass and recovered a fumble.
Crick now has a team-high 8.5 sacks on the season and has 13 tackles for loss.
He is the second Nebraska tackle to receive the honor, after Ndamukong (en-DOM-uh-ken) Suh (SOO) earlier this season.
