RTD said the Federal Transit Administration has formally approved the environmental impact statement on the $590 million Gold Line commuter-rail train that is to run from Union Station to Ward Road in Wheat Ridge.
The FTA’s action means the Regional Transportation District can move ahead with final design and construction of the Gold Line, which will travel through northwest Denver, portions of unincorporated Adams County and Arvada. Plans call for the Gold Line to be constructed after the East Corridor train to Denver International Airport.
