Pheasants Forever will conduct a series of banquets at five eastern Colorado locations in conjunction with the Saturday opening of Colorado’s pheasant season.
These events, whose proceeds are dedicated to various habitat projects the organization sponsors around the state, begin with a Friday lid-lifter in Sterling, where hunters will participate in raffles and auctions in conjunction with a banquet.
Tickets, which vary by place, include dinner and a PF membership.
The Sterling event will be at the Sterling Elks Club, phone 970-520-1277. All five events begin at 6 p.m.
The other four banquets will be Saturday evening, after the first day of hunting, as follows:
• Holyoke: Recreation Center, 970-854-3379.
• Yuma: Agriculture Building, 970-597-1445.
• Lamar: Cow Palace, 719-688-9050.
• Springfield: VFW Hall, 719-523-1882.
In addition to standard raffles at the banquets, Pheasants Forever will conduct a statewide raffle, one for adults, another for youths.
Adults pay $20 for tickets involving 12 separate guns. The $5 youth tickets earn guns and gifts. Drawings for both will be Dec. 12 in Yuma. One need not be present to win. For raffle tickets, go to or phone PF Regional Director Bob Hix at 303-742-8957.
