Seven people, including five children, were taken to local hospitals this morning after a traffic accident in the Green Valley Ranch area of Denver.

The accident happened at about 8 a.m. at the intersection of East 48th Avenue and Malaya Street, police said.

None of the injuries are life threatening, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.

Injuries to a 21-year-old woman in one of the two vehicles are “serious,” Jackson said.

The children and the other adult were not seriously injured.

Jackson said a Chevrolet sedan entered the intersection and was hit broadside by a Dodge Durango.

The Durango “appears” to have had the right-of-way, Jackson said.

Police are at the scene this morning investigating the cause of the accident.
