Trading on Wednesday of Intrepid Potash Inc. options jumped the most since Sept. 2 and was more than five times the four- week average on speculation that there may be acquisitions in the crop-nutrient industry.
More than 21 calls giving the right to buy the stock changed hands for each put option to sell. Shares of the Denver- based company rose 44 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $26.02.
