To help Coloradans decide which charitable groups are more deserving of their contributions, state officials on Thursday launched a website for consumers to check before donating.
The site, checkthecharity , makes use of public registration records that charities and the paid solicitors they hire are required to file with the state. The website is a link to a variety of other sites, including The Denver Post’s Season to Share holiday charity campaign. One link is to the Colorado secretary of state’s website to research a specific charity operating here, their financials and information helpful to donors.
