With a forecast of significant snow for the Denver metro area on Saturday and Sunday, major airlines that operate at Denver International Airport have announced changes to accomodate travelers.

Frontier Airlines has issued a waiver that will allow customers to change travel plans without an extra fee.

The waiver applies to those who bought tickets before today and have not yet begun travel.

For those who have begun their trips, change fees also have been waived, although origin and destination cities must remain the same.

Changes must be made by midnight Sunday and travel must be completed by Wednesday.

Frontier officials said those with flexibility in their travel should consider traveling at an earlier time or date.

If interested in traveling on an earlier flight, call Frontier’s reservation center, 1-800-432-1359, or visit the ticket counter at the departure airport.

Southwest Airlines spokesman Chris Mainz said the airline is relaxing its rules and passengers can change their reservations without penalty through Sunday.

Passengers can visit for updates.

United Airlines also has instituted a snowstorm waiver for tickets purchased before today for travel to, from or through Denver from Saturday through Monday. Customers may take an earlier flight or wait until the snow abates without incurring a change fee.
