MANKATO, Minn.—Colorado College scored two power-play goals, including the game-winner by Nate Prosser at 3:55 of the third period, to beat Minnesota State, Mankato 3-2 Saturday for a road sweep of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
The win, combined with North Dakota’s loss to St. Cloud State, leaves the Tigers (7-2-1, 6-1-1 WCHA) alone in first place in the conference. Colorado College beat the Mavericks 1-0 on Friday.
Ryan Lowery gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead, but MSUM (3-6-1, 1-6-1) tied it on Mike Louwerse’s goal at 15:46 of the first period. Stephen Schultz and Prosser scored on the power play for a 3-1 lead.
Channing Boe made it a one-goal game, but CC goalie Joe Howe was up to the task down the stretch. Howe made 28 saves.
Mavericks’ goalie Austin Lee also had 28 saves.
