How do you celebrate your 75th birthday? With a rock concert (sorta), followed by a rockin’ party.

Mary Estill Buchanan was Colorado secretary of state from 1974 to 1983, and famously challenged Gary Hart in his 1980 U.S. Senate race (and almost won).

She’s kicking up her birthday heels today by taking 100 pals to see the Young @ Heart chorus and Lannie Garrett at the Wells Fargo Theatre.

Young @ Heart is a gang of way-oldtimers (70s and 80s) who sing hard- core rock ‘n’ roll. Maybe you saw their movie or the story on “60 Minutes.”

Check them out at — they’re an inspiration, especially singing “Stayin’ Alive.”

Tix for the 4 p.m. show are $5, if you’re over 60, at King Soopers and at the website; $25 for you young’uns.

Oh, after the concert? Buchanan heads to the Hard Rock Cafe for cake. Or pie. You go, girl.

Movie makers.

You remember Aron Ralston — the guy from Aspen/Boulder who cut his arm off when trapped while climbing in a remote area of Utah? His book, “Between a Rock and a Hard Place,” described the event in gruesome detail.

Now comes news from The Aspen Times that Brit filmmaker Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire”) is ready to make a feature-length flick about the ordeal titled “127 Hours.”

Ralston will be a consultant for the script — which will be beefed up for the screen. “Slumdog” screenwriter Simon Beaufoy is also attached.

Shooting tentatively set to start in the spring.
