A rapper previously known only as “Gorilla” to Denver police has been identified as 25-year-old Daniel Montoya.

Montoya is believed to be one of two men who kicked in the front door of a Denver family’s home and robbed them at gunpoint in March.

The victim recognized Montoya as the local rapper, but neither he nor police initially knew Montoya’s real name. Police think Montoya is in Denver or Pueblo and is armed and dangerous.

He is described as Latino, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds.

He has brown eyes, brown hair and tattoos, including “Old English” on his neck and a clown and “Montoya” on his left arm.

He faces charges of aggravated robbery and first-degree burglary.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or Denver police at 720-913-2000. Joey Bunch, The Denver Post
