DURANGO, Colo.—Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort has yanked the season ski pass of a woman who criticized changes to its operating schedule.
Resort CEO Gary Derck says Lauren Slaff was refunded the $539 she paid so she could find a resort that better met her expectations.
Slaff had told The Durango Herald for an October article that friends with weekday passes to the resort were upset that at the beginning and end of ski season, the resort planned to be open only Friday through Sunday.
Derck says that schedule is used when there’s not enough natural snow and that the resort does honor weekday passes when it uses that schedule.
Slaff said she moved to Durango from New York City 2 1/2 years ago largely because of the nearby ski area.
