BOULDER — A Longmont police officer who was arrested last week on suspicion of giving prescription drugs to a confidential informant, with whom investigators suspect he was having a relationship, was charged Friday with numerous crimes including two felonies, the Daily Camera reported.

Jack Kimmett, a 28-year veteran of the force, appeared Friday in a courtroom at the Boulder County Jail, where he was charged with theft, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony distribution of a controlled substance and official misconduct.

Investigators suspect Kimmett took Vicodin from his wife and gave the pain medication to a woman who once worked as an informant for the Longmont Police Department, according to an arrest affidavit.
