BOULDER — Nonresident parking in the Mapleton Hill, Columbine and Whittier neighborhoods could be further restricted if neighborhood petitions recommended by the Transportation Advisory Board are accepted by the Boulder City Council.

The proposals call for a total of seven more blocks to be added to the Neighborhood Parking Permit program. The permit program was created in 1996 as a modification of the original Residential Parking Program.

It allows residents to get permits that grant them unlimited parking on those streets, while the general public is restricted to two or three hours, depending on the area.
