MONTE VISTA — Colorado State Trooper Ryan Hafner remained in serious but stable condition in a Denver hospital Sunday evening after wrecking his cruiser Saturday night near Monte Vista.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, but Hafner, who joined the State Patrol in January, was looking for a suspected drunken driver at the time of the accident, said Cpl. Eric Wynn, a spokesman for the agency.
The crash happened about 9 p.m. Hafner was flown to St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver.
