At around 11 a.m. Sunday, Broncos starting quarterback Kyle Orton walked onto Invesco Field at Mile High in shorts and a shirt and threw some passes. Orton wasn’t hobbling and he seemed to be throwing well, although he did appear to be moving gingerly.
He finished at 11:07 with this result: Chris Simms will be the Broncos’ starting quarterback. Simms was told Saturday he very likely would be the starting quarterback.
Rookie Tom Brandstater and Orton will both be in uniform today, although it’s not yet known if one will receive the No. 3 quarterback designation.
