The road to the Olympics runs through Aspen this weekend as the Aspen Winternational FIS Alpine Women’s World Cup brings skiing’s fastest women to Colorado.
Racing gets underway with giant slalom at 10 a.m. Saturday (finals at 1 p.m.), followed by a slalom race at 10 a.m. Sunday (1 p.m. finals). Results from both events will be used to determine who will represent the U.S. at the Vancouver Games in February.
The festive weekend is free and open to the public, featuring race stadium access, fireworks, awards and ceremonies, plus an outdoor concert with the John Popper Project and DJ Logic at Aspen’s upper Gondola Plaza at 7 p.m. Saturday.
