Cooking-oil disposal
Do not just dump the used oil from your turkey-fryer down the drain or toss it in the trash. It can seep into the ecosystem and cause havoc for wildlife and our drinking water. There are many locations statewide where you can dispose of oil properly.
The Rocky Mountain Sustainable Enterprises annual RecycOil program will collect used cooking oil at nine metro-area locations on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit for more information, or call 303-544-1500.
In Eagle County, bring your oil to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 2250 Colorado 131 in Wolcott. Collection starts Monday and continues through Dec. 5. Call 970-328-3468.
Who doesn’t love lunch?
Il Posto, where chef Andrea Frizzi cooks sophisticated urban Italian food, is now open for lunch. On nice days, that means sipping pinot grigio outdoors over a midday plate of pasta.
