No, that’s not a typo. The Denver-based Women’s Bean Project, known for its soup mixes, spice rubs and gourmet gift baskets, has added jewelry. This year, some of the program’s participants studied with jewelry designers to learn to make beaded necklaces and bracelets. Fifteen limited-edition styles, $19 to $59, are made of sterling silver, glass beads and semi-precious stones including turquoise, garnet, amethyst, jade, labradorite, onyx and pearl. A silver charm with a bean etched on it at the clasp is a signature touch. For 20 years, the project has helped women from backgrounds of chronic unemployment and poverty learn work and interpersonal skills. The jewelry will debut at a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 4-6 at its headquarters in Old Firehouse No. 10, 3201 Curtis St. More at .
