The father of a 3-month-old girl is being held for investigation of child abuse resulting in death, Lakewood police said Friday.
Police were called to the 100 block of South Quay Street shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday to investigate the death of the infant, said Sheridan Foster, spokeswoman for the Lakewood Police Department.
Marcus Leyba, 24, is being held at the Jefferson County Jail. Foster said detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and the circumstances leading up to the infant’s death.
Leyba likely will appear in Jefferson County Court early next week.
