LONGMONT, Colo.—A chain-reaction traffic accident injured at least four people, caused a power outage and sent a pickup truck hurtling into a Longmont video store.

Authorities say charges are pending against 37-year-old Steven Williams of Longmont. Police say he was driving the truck that rear-ended a car, hopped onto the sidewalk and hit a transformer box, knocking out power in the area for an hour Saturday night.

The truck then smashed into the front of a video store. Police say the car hit by the truck collided with another vehicle.

Williams and 47-year-old Cindra Kline of Fort Collins, a passenger in the second car, were in stable condition in the Longmont hospital Sunday. Others were treated and released.

No information was available on a 17-year-old girl in the second car.
