DENVER—Denver prosecutors have filed charges against the parents of a 3-year-old boy who was shot in the leg.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old William Thalley and 25-year-old Nicole Fernandez told police an unknown man shot the boy at an intersection Nov. 22, but prosecutors allege Thalley shot him during an argument with Fernandez.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that Thalley was charged with attempted first-degree murder, child abuse and three counts of menacing. Fernandez was charged with being an accessory to a crime on allegations that she helped cover up the shooting.

Bond was set at $275,000 for Thalley and $150,000 for Fernandez.

They were to be advised of the charges Thursday. It was unknown if they had lawyers.
