CSO raises funds, with a little help from its friends
The Colorado Symphony raised $625,758 during an unprecedented three-day, on-air fundraising campaign last week on Colorado Public Radio’s news and classical- music channels.
More than 1,900 listeners made contributions totaling $335,758, with $290,000 of those gifts matched dollar-for-dollar by donations from Colorado Symphony musicians, staff, donors and board members.
The three-day drive culminated Wednesday evening with a live broadcast — the first ever on both CPR channels simultaneously — of a CSO concert featuring famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, above. Kyle MacMillan
