DENVER—Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and a member of Gov. Bill Ritter’s staff plan to attend the international climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Former state Rep. Alice Madden of Boulder, Ritter’s climate change coordinator, is set to travel to the United Nations conference, which starts Monday.
U.S. Sen. Mark Udall also plans to attend but when he goes and how long he stays depends on the health care debate. Sen. Michael Bennet plans to send an aide.
Hickenlooper’s spokesman, Eric Brown, says the Federal Transit Administration invited the mayor to speak on a panel about the role of public transportation in cutting carbon emissions. He says the FTA is paying for the trip.
Hickenlooper will be in Copenhagen Sunday through Wednesday.
