DURANGO, Colo.—A Bayfield man accused of using his pickup truck to run bicyclists off the road this summer has been sentenced to probation.
Forty-one-year-old Todd Grooms, who pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and felony menacing, was sentenced Thursday. He faces up to three years in prison if he violates the terms of his probation.
The menacing charge will be dropped from his record if he completes the terms, which require him to obtain a substance-abuse evaluation, abstain from alcohol and drugs, complete an anger-management course, complete 50 hours of community service and receive a mental-health evaluation. He also cannot possess firearms.
No one was injured by Grooms.
