NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana got its earliest snowflakes ever as people across the South awakened to a dusting of powder.
Snow started falling in the region late Friday and continued into Saturday morning. The National Weather Service says several Louisiana towns reported 2 to 3 inches of snow.
The storm also dumped 3 to 4 inches of snow overnight in parts of Mississippi.
