OMAHA, Neb.—A 16-year-old was shot twice in the leg after a melee at a high school basketball tournament in Omaha.
Police say Trevaughn Brown suffered serious injuries in Thursday night’s shooting on the Creighton University campus, but he’s expected to recover.
Officers have arrested a 17-year-old. He’s being held at the Douglas County Youth Detention Center.
Omaha Public Schools spokeswoman Luanne Nelson says the shooting happened after police kicked 40 people out of the Benson-Omaha North game.
The tournament continued Friday, and police increased security for those games.
