GILPIN COUNTY — A man drove his truck into Clear Creek, briefly closing U.S. 6 in Clear Creek County on Sunday afternoon.
The man’s Dodge Durango plunged into the river between Colorado 119 and U.S. 40 about 3:45 p.m., said Colorado State Trooper Ryan Sullivan.
The driver was rushed to St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, but the extent and nature of his injuries was not known. They were not believed to be serious.
The driver’s name was not released, and the cause of the accident remained under investigation.
