KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian official says the Philippine government and Muslim separatist rebels have resumed peace talks that collapsed 16 months ago.

Negotiators from both sides are meeting at a hotel in Malaysia’s largest city for the talks, which are scheduled to run through Wednesday. A Malaysian organizing official says they declined to speak to the media today.
