LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska’s dominant defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (en-DOM-uh-ken Soo) says it’s an honor to be named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.
Suh says he’s excited to be considered for college football’s top award.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Suh will attend Saturday’s Heisman ceremony in New York after attending a series of awards banquets during the week. With the Heisman announcement Monday, Suh is now a finalist for seven major national awards, including the Walter Camp Player of the Year honor.
Nebraska coach Bo Pelini says Suh is a special football player, and he’s glad the Heisman voters recognized that.
Suh leads the Cornhuskers with 82 tackles this season, including 12 sacks and 56 tackles for a loss.
