SEOUL, South Korea — A senior U.S. envoy praised his talks today with North Korea, a report said, as he ended his trip to the communist nation aimed at prodding it back to international nuclear negotiations.

Envoy Stephen Bosworth made the remark at a Pyong yang airport as he headed to South Korea after a three-day visit, according to China’s Xinhua news agency. “It’s a very useful meeting,” he said.

It was unclear if the comment signaled progress on getting North Korea to return to the talks it left this year.
