Every month, the government pulls out its eraser and cleans up some prior answers.
After initially saying the country lost 219,000 jobs during September, the Bureau of Labor recently said it was actually just 139,000. The government has revised down job-loss figures for three straight months, an encouraging sign for the labor market.
That, plus improving temp hiring, has Deutsche Bank economist Joseph LaVorgna predicting we will see the first monthly job growth in two years for December.
