The Boulder Running Company/Adidas team successfully defended its title in the women’s team competition at the USA Track and Field national club cross country championships Saturday in Lexington, Ky. The BRC/Adidas men’s team finished second.
Laura Haefeli of Del Norte won the masters 6-kilometer race, outpacing defending champion Carmen Ayala-Troncoso of Austin, Texas. Betty Valent of Boulder won the 65-69 age division.
Eagles beat Odessa in shootout.
Riley Nelson and Ed McGrane scored in a shootout, leading the Colorado Eagles to a 2-1 win over Odessa in Loveland.
Despite the fact the Eagles and Jackalopes were the two highest-scoring teams in the Central Hockey League, the game came down to goaltending, with Colorado’s Andrew Penner stopping 4-of-5 shots in the shootout.
