Greg Brown is leaving the Colorado staff to become the co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Arizona. Brown, who also coached at CU secondary from 1991-93, was hired by Dan Hawkins in 2006.

Brown, 52, has had preliminary interviews and is expected to be named to the Arizona staff after final interviews are completed next week.

“We’ve been very fortunate to have Brownie on our staff, and we wish him and his family the best,” Hawkins said in a release.

Hawkins said a search for a replacement will begin immediately, and indicated shuffling assignments among his staff was a possibility.
