COMMERCE CITY — Four people were injured Friday night when a 20-inch gas line ruptured. Xcel Energy officials say employees worked through the night to complete repairs so that customers could resume normal energy use Saturday.
Only a few customers experienced outages near the natural-gas-line break, Xcel spokesman Tom Henley said.
Four men were taken to hospitals Friday night after the line ruptured while Hettinger Mayo contractors were replacing a pipe near 56th Avenue and Vasquez Boulevard, according to Joe Haralson, safety manager for the company. He said three were treated and released and the fourth was kept overnight for observation of nonserious injuries.
