Colorado is getting $26.6 million in grants from the Department of Homeland Security to dole out to agencies across the state.
Gov. Bill Ritter’s office said more than 80 percent of the funds will go to county and local agencies to support emergency responders and improve disaster preparedness. Applications will be submitted to the federal government by April 19.
