RED FEATHER LAKES, Colo.—Time is running out for people who want cut their own Christmas tree near Red Feather Lakes this year.

Saturday and Sunday are the last days of the season for those who prefer a natural Christmas tree and want to get their own from the national forest spot northwest of Fort Collins. A permit to cut a tree costs $10 and a four-wheel-drive vehicle or a car with chains is required to enter the cutting area.

The U.S. Forest Service says frigid temperatures have kept people away this week but officials expect a larger crowd this weekend with the warmer weather.
