DURANGO, Colo.—Plans to reopen an old gold mine in La Plata County have hit another deley.
Wildcat Mining Corp.’s application to reopen the Idaho mine has been rejected by county planners who say the mine’s access road is unsafe.
Mining company owners say they still plan to pursue opening the Idaho mine in La Plata Canyon. The company has an existing permit for a mine nearby called the Mayday mine.
Both mines date to the early 1900s.
