BOULDER, Colo.—The National Center for Atmospheric Research says a Colorado-based company will work on a climate-modeling supercomputer center being built in Wyoming.

NCAR said Monday that Centennial-based Saunders Construction Inc. was selected to provide pre-construction services and potentially construction services for the building in Cheyenne.

Construction could begin as soon as the spring. Costs are estimated at $66 million.

The facility will hold some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers to help study climate change, air quality, severe weather and other atmospheric science topics.
