DURANGO, Colo.—Fort Lewis College is clarifying its drug policy to specify that no marijuana is allowed on campus, even if someone has a medical marijuana license.

The school’s policy got new attention this month after a student group asked the college to loosen penalties for students who illegally use marijuana, so that the penalties are the same as for students who violate alcohol policies.

Fort Lewis had no mention of medical marijuana in its drug policy, and college spokesman Mitch Davis had said it allowed students with medical marijuana licenses to smoke marijuana on campus but not in dorms.

Davis says the school decided Monday to clarify its policy.
