AURORA, Colo.—Aurora Public Schools officials say preliminary projections show the district could face a $16.4 million deficit next year.
Superintendent John Barry told the school board this week the forecast could get worse if state tax revenues don’t meet projections.
This year’s budget is $248 million.
The district is the state’s sixth-largest, with nearly 36,000 students and 55 schools.
