DENVER—Denver police say a severely injured infant has died, four days after the parents were arrested on suspicion of child abuse.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the infant died at 2 a.m. Saturday at The Children’s Hospital in Aurora.
Authorities haven’t released the child’s name or age or any details of the injuries.
The parents, 26-year-old Travis Anderson and 27-year-Crystal Eccleston, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
Jackson says the holding charges will be upgraded to fatal child abuse.
The parents remain in jail. It’s not known whether they have attorneys.
