OMAHA, Neb.—Rich Purslow scored the winning goal 43 seconds into overtime Saturday to lift Nebraska-Omaha to a 2-1 win over Minnesota State, Mankato.
Purslow’s eighth goal of the season came against Austin Lee, who made 38 saves for MSUM (9-9-2). Lee had two saves in overtime before Purslow’s game-winner.
Kurt Davis gave MSUM a 1-0 lead at 6:12 of the first period, but UNO (9-7-4) tied it on Nick Fanto’s goal at 11:15 of the same period.
John Faulkner had 23 saves for UNO, which outshot MSUM 40-24.
The teams skated to a 1-1 tie on Friday.
