COLUMBIA, Mo.—Another quarterback named Gabbert is headed to Missouri.
Tyler Gabbert is the younger brother of starting Tiger QB Blaine Gabbert. He has committed to attend Missouri next season after an initial verbal agreement with Big 12 Conference rival Nebraska. The official signing date is in February.
The younger Gabbert is a senior at Parkway West High School in suburban St. Louis. He told the Columbia Missourian in an article printed Sunday that he is more comfortable with Missouri’s pass-first spread offense.
Sophomore Blaine Gabbert has completed nearly 60 percent of his passes for more than 3,300 yards, with 23 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Missouri takes an 8-4 record into its Dec. 31 Texas Bowl game against Navy, which is 9-4.
